How can I get the smell out of my basement?

We have two cats and before we were able to neuter them, they peed and sprayed all over our basement. We are now trying to get the smell out but nothing has worked. The smell hits you every time you walk into the basement. If any one has any suggestions on how to get rid of the cat smell please let me know! We have four very little windows that open and the basement is decent sized.
